Protective DNS for gig nights, from door scanners to the bar
On a show night your door scanners, cashless bars, card terminals and CCTV all depend on the network, and touring crews add their own laptops to it. Shield checks each DNS lookup before a connection starts, blocking phishing, malware and C2 callbacks. Fan WiFi comes second: ad and tracker blocking cuts the data each phone uses when the room is full.
What is at stake
Where a venue network is exposed on show night
A frozen door or bar
Ransomware on the ticketing or ePOS system stops scanning and card payments with a queue round the block. Shield blocks the domains it relies on.Touring crews and promoters
Tour managers, merch sellers and support acts join your network with their own laptops. Any one of them may already be infected.A full room on one network
Thousands of phones loading ads and trackers compete with your tills and scanners for the same backhaul.
How Shield fits
Doors, bars, production and fans on separate rules
- Doors and cashless barsThreat-first policy on ticket scanners, bar ePOS and card terminals, with new-domain and TLD blocking switched on.
- Production and crewThreat defence for touring crews and promoters, with VPN and proxy apps blocked on the crew network.
- CCTV and building IoTCameras and building systems behind the relay, so you can trace a suspicious lookup to one device.
- Fan WiFiAd and tracker blocking to save data, with adult content blocked for all-ages shows by time of day.

FAQ
Questions we hear from teams like yours
Will Shield slow the network down on a sold-out night?
No. It answers the DNS lookup and checks policy before the connection starts. Blocking ads and trackers on fan WiFi used up to 44% less data and cut DNS queries by up to 62% in Purple's tests, which leaves more room for your tills.
Can we change rules for all-ages shows?
Yes. Policy runs by time of day and day of week, per network or SSID. You can block adult categories and enforce Safe Search for an early all-ages show, then relax it for a late over-18s club night.
Do touring crews need to install anything?
No. Nothing needs installing on guest or unmanaged devices on the network. Crew laptops are covered as soon as they join the crew SSID, and VPN and proxy app blocking keeps them inside the policy you set.
Does it help with PCI DSS on our bars?
It helps you meet PCI DSS by blocking malware and phishing domains on the networks that carry bar tills and card terminals, with reports and log streaming as evidence. It is a layer behind your firewall, not a replacement for it.
What if Shield has an outage mid-set?
Shield runs on a dual anycast DNS network and fails closed, so an outage never leaves a network unfiltered. Your door, bar and fan networks keep the same policy whichever node answers the lookup.
