Protective DNS for the clubhouse, the pro shop and member WiFi
A club runs its tee-sheet and membership systems, clubhouse ePOS, pro shop tills and an office that handles subscriptions, usually with a small team. Shield answers each DNS lookup and blocks phishing, malware and command-and-control callbacks before a connection starts. Office and payment networks get threat-first rules, and members get family-safe WiFi without the ads in the clubhouse and on the terrace.

What is at stake
Member data and card payments on a small team
Phishing at the club office
Subscription renewals, competition entries and supplier invoices all arrive by email. One convincing lure can hand over the membership database.Clubhouse and pro shop tills
ePOS in the bar, restaurant and pro shop takes card payments all day. It needs to sit apart from member WiFi, on threat-first rules.Members' and guests' devices
Members, visiting societies and wedding guests bring phones and tablets you have never seen onto the clubhouse WiFi.

FAQ
Questions we hear from teams like yours
Do we need hardware or an IT team to run it?
No hardware. Point your router, firewall or DHCP at Shield and the clubhouse is covered. Policies are set in one dashboard, scheduled PDF reports arrive by email, and nothing installs on members' devices.
Can members, guests and staff have different rules?
Yes. Each SSID or VLAN carries its own policy, and staff rules can follow groups in Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory. A function room can run its own rules for the evening without touching member WiFi.
Will it slow the clubhouse WiFi?
No. Blocking ads and trackers removes traffic, so pages load up to 500% faster and use up to 44% less data, in Purple's own measurements. Members notice it most when the clubhouse is full after a competition.
Can we stop staff using AI tools or social media at work?
Yes, if you want to. One-click app blocking covers generative AI apps, social media, games and file sharing. User behaviour analytics show which AI tools and unsanctioned apps staff actually use, so you decide with the facts in front of you.
How does it help with PCI DSS for bar and pro shop payments?
Shield helps you meet it. Tills and card terminals sit on their own VLAN with threat-first rules, malicious lookups are blocked before they connect, and scheduled reports give you evidence of the control. It is a layer behind your firewall, not a replacement.
