Protective DNS for betting shops, casinos and the gaming floor

Casinos, betting shops and adult gaming centers run gaming machines, self-service betting terminals, cash desks, card terminals and CCTV, with staff handling customer and payment data on each shift. Shield blocks phishing, malware and C2 callbacks at the DNS lookup, across each shop and floor. It helps you meet the UK Gambling Commission's security expectations, and keeps customer WiFi filtered where you offer it.

What is at stake

Where a gambling estate is exposed

  • Staff targeted by phishing

Shop and cage staff handle customer accounts, cash and identity checks. Criminals target them with fake logins and supplier emails.
  • Machines and terminals online

Gaming machines, betting terminals and CCTV connect out across hundreds of shops. One infected device can reach the rest.
  • A large estate, a small team

A betting chain may run hundreds of sites with a central IT team. Each one needs the same policy, applied without a visit.

FAQ

Questions we hear from teams like yours

Does Shield help with our UK Gambling Commission obligations?

It helps you meet the security side of your UK Gambling Commission license by blocking phishing, malware and C2 at the lookup, with reports and log streams as evidence. It does not make you compliant on its own, and it sits behind your firewall.

Can we roll it out across hundreds of shops?

Yes. Point each shop's router, firewall or DHCP at Shield, with no hardware to fit. Policy is set per site, network or VLAN from one dashboard, and scheduled PDF reports go to regional and head office teams.

Will it interfere with gaming machines or terminals?

No. You allow the supplier domains your machines and betting terminals need, and Shield checks each lookup before the connection starts. The relay shows each machine's internal IP, so you can see which one looked up what.

Can we send logs to our security operations team?

Yes. Shield streams logs to Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, IBM QRadar, CrowdStrike, Amazon S3 or syslog, and has an open API. Single sign-on works with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or OIDC.

What happens if Shield goes down?

Shield runs on a dual anycast DNS network and fails closed, so an outage never leaves a shop or gaming floor unfiltered. Each site keeps its policy whichever node answers the lookup.
